The Coming of the iPhone

JupiterResearch is making available to the public for the first time a JupiterTeleconference in podcast form, discussing the pending entry of the Apple iPhone. This special podcast focuses on the issues that the iPhone will create in the market, help understand the strengths and weaknesses of the iPhone, and the effect this launch will have.

The iPhone is going to be an important product introduction in 2007. While Apple is late to the handset market, most people forget that Apple was not first to market with the iPod. The impact of this product launch is likely to be felt in different markets beyond the handset space. The question is how well other vendors will be able to capitalize on the buzz surrounding the iPhone launch and use this as an opportunity for market education to move consumers beyond the purchase of basic feature phones.
